Our flooring is tested for click-lock integrity to ensure water can't penetrate the seams, as well as full plank absorption rates by full submersion in a water tank.After both tests were completed, the results indicated that when installed correctly, NewAge Stone Composite Flooring is waterproof.

Click-lock
strength testing.
A common issue during installation of click-lock floor systems is that the edge grooves are thin, and prone to damage, which prevents a tight seal between planks, and results in extra waste.Our flooring offers a strong click-lock system that can hold up to rough handling, and is easier to install with less damaged edges.

Testing for UV resistance and color fidelity.
The UV protection built into the topcoat vinyl layer is tested using Xenon-arc lamps irradiating the flooring sample for 300 hours, simulating the amount of sunlight hitting the flooring over the course of 10 years.The tested floor is compared to a control sample to ensure minimal fading of the print layer color.

Understanding the wear layer thickness.
Typical flooring thicknesses ranges from 0.1 mm to 1 mm. A thinner protective layer makes it susceptible to damage, and an overly thick layer causes pattern distortion.Our research showed that the perfect thickness is a 0.5 or 0.7 mm wear layer that maximizes top-coat protection, while preserving the vinyl print layer beneath.
Durability where it counts.
The 27.6 mil wear layer is tested extensively to meet our strict criteria for durability and integrity under extreme high-traffic conditions.A calibrated caster wheel with a 200 lb load is rolled over our flooring for 25,000 cycles to simulate repeated wear. Our results showed minimal wear to the top layer and no damage to the underlying photo layer.

Finding a core material that is both water-proof when correctly installed and capable of supporting the weight of a vehicle was critical for our flooringOur Stone Composite core is engineered from 70% limestone with added stabilizers for resilience with added flexibility. Our durable 9.5mm Flooring is tested through a concentrated point load exceeding 40,000 lbs while our 5mm flooring passes commercial grade impact and indent resistance.
