NewAge is looking for a Senior Quality Control Manager responsible for product and supplier quality within a global portfolio of contract manufacturers supplying NewAge Products Inc. with finished products for the North American Retail Market.

The Senior Quality Control Manager oversees designing and developing a Suppler Quality Management system that deploys quality assurance and quality control measures to ensure that a company's products are according to standards. Coordinates with Product Development Engineers and directs the work of Supplier Quality Engineers to align market needs with supplier capabilities by evaluating existing quality control methods and creating strategies to improve production procedures. In addition to optimizing quality control, the Senior Quality Control Manager shall also monitor the development workflow and the workforce's performance to ensure efficiency and adherence to the company's standards and regulations. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage personnel to complete all quality verification and validation activities for Quality Control (QC) and production related activities.
  • Direct Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities throughout the company.
  • Develop and implement Quality Management Systems suited for each product line and supplier that focuses on the key risks and ensures compliance with the product requirements.
  • Contributes to the supplier’s assessment, selection, onboarding and support contractual requirements, facilitates the Supplier Manual review and implementation
  • Participates in cross-functional product launch teams, ensuring product quality and regulatory requirements are met at launch and throughout commercialization. Acts as the point of contact for the transition from R&D Product Validation to Production Quality Control.
  • Provide training and support to quality control teams in the execution of the Product Quality Management Plan.
  • Assist Quality Engineers in producing QC metrics and managing corrective and preventive action (CAPA) system.
  • Provides oversight of investigations into Customer Complaints, Quality Incidents and Exceptions to ensure root causes are identified and effective CAPAs are developed and implemented.
  • Manage Regulatory Committee reviews to address issues. Reporting to upper management on quality standard issues. Evaluating product recalls.
  • Manage all aspects of change control for business operational, overseeing all CAPA programs and management.
  • Prepare weekly and/or monthly quality status reports as per the Product QMS
  • Develop and implement a risk–based approach to quality oversight within third party manufacturing operations and promote continuous improvement activities. 
  • Evaluate existing quality control methods and create strategies to improve production procedures at third party contract manufacturers.
  • Ensures resources are in place for effective quality surveillance of contract manufacturers, including the scheduling of applicable QC inspectors and arranging Third-Party inspections.
  • Implements quality systems to monitor product quality and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enable evaluation of trends and continuous assessment of product and manufacturer risks.
  • Develop strategy towards meeting product quality and operational objectives and establish process to regularly monitor and report those KPIs. 

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the consumer goods manufacturing industry with a strong understanding of quality management systems and practices.
  • Minimum of five years of experience overseeing the design and development of products with contract manufacturers
  • Professional Engineer or Engineering degree
  • Experience in managing a team of quality professionals.
  • Experience developing and implementing quality-plans on large/complex projects.
  • Ability to plan and organize work in a manner that is clear, concise, and punctual.
  • Certification from American Society of Quality and Six Sigma an asset
